THASSOS

Thassos island
the emerald paradise.

Thassos island is the most northerly of all the Greek islands and can be found in the Aegean Sea nestled beautifully between the Chalkidiki Peninsular and Kavala. Conveniently located, it is only a few kilometers away from the nearest ports on the mainland.

Unequalled beauty

Experience the natural beauty & diversity of Thassos island.

Skala Potamias is the port of Potamia village.  Its lush vegetation in combination with the amazing blue of the sea makes it one of the most beautiful destinations of the island and a tourist hot spot during summer.

Its small port offers shelter to the local fishing boats, with the building of Tarsanas looking magnificent next to it.  The building was used in the past as a fishing shelter for the monks of Mount Athos (Agion Oros) but nowadays it accommodates the island’s folklore museum and it hosts various cultural events.

Overall Skala Potamias boasts an excellent tourist infrastructure with luxurious hotels, bars, shops and many seafood tavernas right next to the sea.
